RC Strasbourg Alsace has strengthened its defense with the addition of promising 19-year-old Danish centre-back Lucas Hogsberg, whose signing was announced on Saturday.
Hogsberg joins the Alsatian club from Danish Superliga team Nordsjælland, with a long-term commitment extending until 2030.
The young defender had attracted considerable attention from foreign clubs throughout the year. Notably, Italian Serie A side Como 1907 reportedly submitted a €10 million offer for him in January, which Nordsjælland declined.
According to L’Équipe, the transfer fee for Hogsberg is estimated to be approximately €15 million, excluding potential bonuses. He represents the fourth central defender Le Racing has acquired this summer. Previous defensive signings include Mamadou Sarr (19) on loan from Chelsea, Andrew Omobamidele (23) who made a permanent transfer in June, and Soumaïla Coulibaly (21) who committed to a four-year deal in July.
Hogsberg began his journey with Nordsjælland at the tender age of three and made his professional debut for the club at 16. He has earned two caps for the Danish national team, receiving his first call-up in March for the UEFA Nations League quarter-final match against Portugal.
